Here is a question to which everyone seems to have their own answer, and it's a legitimate question, even in a communication agency like Puck.
Have you ever tried typing it into Google? First result: “the set of techniques aimed at commercial strategy, and in particular market research”. This is typical of many partial, or even downright wrong, answers. As soon as we talk about marketing, it's surprising how this simple notion becomes vague and often needs an angle to define it, digital marketing for example. This phenomenon is particularly marked in our country, France. The proof is the scarcity of literature on the subject, much of it translated from English.
So let's not keep you in suspense. Marketing is quite simply the set of techniques that bring supply and demand together. I can see this reading lighting up many pairs of eyes. It shows what these techniques are. Communication, advertising, promotion, online campaigns, influence, press and public relations: all means of encouraging this meeting.
We can then see how important marketing is for any company. Rather than reducing marketing to a cosmetic discipline, we can see that it is in fact a business lever. We also understand how important it is to connect 3 key notions:
- 1 – The brand
- 2 – Communication
- 3 – Transformation
